"ART-TRACK" ©1993 urban project
This project is communication
on issues that are contemporary concerns for the individual and the
community. A light truck is utilized
and transformed into a mobile art gallery, an atelier for workshops or a stage podium, according to the needs of each issue presented or
performed. Being mobile can move to various locations, visit neighborhoods,
parks, festivals, schools etc., those places where people can be available and
thus invited to participate. It can be
presented at scheduled showings but also could show up as an unexpected
visitor. Art on the street attracts immediacy, responds to action and reaction,
makes friends but also critics. It can take part in democratic demonstrations thus becoming
a small symbol in the monument of democracy. Public participation is the artwork
in itself for this project. |
