"FROM ONE TO ANOTHER" (BIG & BANG) ©2018
In "Topographia Christiana", treatise written by the Christian zealot Kosmas Indicoplefstes, we observe an attempt to impose on society the "orthodox views" by dismissing the contemporary philosophical and scientific achievement as "pagan" therefore belonging to the rival religion that Christians were trying to topple, e.g. he regards as false the Ptolemaic planetary system and the spherical shape of the celestial bodies and introduces earlier convictions of the "flat earth". A contradicting and somehow absurd approach in the sense that he turned to past beliefs that were older and even more pagan than the ones he was arguing against.
I was challenged to adopt his elaborate schematic diagrams but add into their context the interactive presence of humanity and today's knowledge in an effort to make his "science-fiction" realistic. |
